Your skin is changing. Here's what the research says.

Skin starts changing in our 30s, and the shift picks up speed in our late 40s and 50s. It feels drier. It looks less firm. The products that worked for years suddenly don't.

It's not your imagination, and it's not your routine. Swansera is built around phytoestrogens, plant compounds from soy and red clover that researchers have studied on midlife skin for more than twenty years. We paired them with well-researched skin actives: bakuchiol, peptides, and ceramides. Below are the ingredients in our formula, followed by the published phytoestrogen studies that shaped it.

What the research shows

Three published clinical studies on plant compounds and midlife skin.

J Clin Med, 2023
Topical genistein, placebo-controlled
Participants
50 postmenopausal women
Design
Randomized, double-blind
Duration
Six weeks, twice daily
Arms
Genistein vs. placebo

The genistein group showed improvement in hydration, pore appearance, and wrinkle measurements. The tested cream paired genistein with vitamin E, vitamin B3, and ceramides. Genistein comes from soy and red clover, both in our formula, which makes this the study closest to what's in our product.

Gynecol Endocrinol, 2017
Genistein vs. prescription estrogen
Participants
30 women
Duration
24 weeks
Measure
Collagen, skin biopsy
Arms
Genistein vs. estrogen

Both groups built more collagen, the protein that keeps skin firm. The prescription estrogen cream produced a larger increase. Genistein still made a measurable difference, which is why plant compounds are a real option for women seeking a non-prescription approach.

Lephart & Naftolin, Dermatol Ther, 2021
Topical equol, 12 weeks
Participants
59 women, aged 40–70
Population
Most postmenopausal 3+ yrs
Duration
12 weeks
Formula
0.3% equol lotion

Across eight areas (firmness, smoothness, tone, lines, radiance, pore size, spots, and hydration), women reported 51–78% improvement over baseline. Equol isn't in our formula. The body makes it from daidzein, a soy compound that is in our product.
